The board of directors for 2011 of the Museum Railway Association, which maintains the Jokioinen Museum Railway, has been elected. The autumn meeting of the association made the personal selections on Saturday, November 27, at Minkiö in Jokioinen.
Marko Laine from Helsinki continues as chairman of the association, Lauri Niemi from Vantaa as vice-chairman, Teemu Virtanen from Lahti as secretary, and Lea Harjula from Jokioinen as cashier handling financial matters.
Anne Teirisalo from Espoo was elected as a new member of the board, and Juha-Pekka Viitanen from Jokioinen for his next term. Both have a two-year term. Janne Rutonen from Hämeenlinna will continue on the board until the end of his two-year term in 2011. Kalevi Sillanpää from Punkalaidun was elected to continue as a deputy member of the board.
In addition to personnel selection, the autumn meeting confirmed the 2011 budget and action plan of the Museum Railway Association. In addition to the museum train service, the main focuses of the 2011 activities are the renovation of the buildings of the Minkiö museum depot area and the preparation of large-scale future construction projects. These include, among other things, a new storage hall for museum equipment and the complete renovation of the railway line.
