Timetables for year 2018 are now published. Timetables and events follow the pattern of previous years. The biggest change is that in August 2018 the trains will run on Saturdays instead of Sunday.

The main reason to change the operating day from Sunday to Saturday is the very early end of school summer vacation this year. Children will be back in the school after the first weekend of August. We were figuring it will be easier for people to visit the Jokioinen Museum Railway on Saturdays, when you have full day to enjoy without needing to hurry back to home.
The traditional events of the year are:
- Minkiö Veteran Car Day on the first Sunday of June 3.6.2018
- Minkiö Farmers' Market on the first Sunday of July 1.7.2018
- Minkiö Steam Festival on the last weekend of July 8.-29.7.2018
- Starlight Train & Children's Agricultural Show on the second Saturday of September 8.9.2018
- The Santa Claus Train on the first Saturday of December 1.12.2018
You can check the timetables and event by clicking the link on top of this page. Welcome to a train ride at Jokioinen Museum Railway!

The artist of Christmas card is PTJ Koskinen, a steam locomotive engineer of Jokioinen Museum Railway. On the card Santa Claus is running his train pulled by the HKR5 steam locomotive "Sohvi". The locomotive will turn 100 years just after Christmas.
This autumn a long gone switch for the old Sand Spur was reinstalled in between Minkiö and Humppila stations and Santa seems to be unaware of that. He has managed to take his train to the Sand Spur instead of going straight to Humppila. Peter, his reindeer is playing very stubborn and blocking the mainline and elves have decided that it is time to have a break at the Sand Spur camp fire place.
Let's hope Santa gets the situation solved and is able to deliver all the presents as expected..
You can also visit our image gallery to view Museum Railway Christmas greetings of past years. All of them are drawn by PTJ Koskinen.

The first charter train of this spring was running in sunny weather on Tuesday May 16 2017. The train was carrying a group of enthusiastic kindergarten children spotting all kind of animals alongside of the track. They did se at least hares, a deer, seagulls and a cat, but nobody saw a pheasant. Children were also admiring a cloud coming out of the steam locomotive and following the train just outside carriage windows all the voyage!

The train was hauled by the oldest operating steam locomotive of Jokioinen Museum Railway -the ex Äänekoski-Suolahti Railway H.K. Porter locomotive from year 1901. The locomotive is a saturated steam locomotive missing the super heaters which heat up and dry the steam. Because of this the locomotive will make really nice white clouds of steam in right kind of weather.
You can charter a private train at Jokoinen Museum Railway until beginning of December. The scheduled trains for public will be running on summer Sundays and special event days starting from June.
