While the spring sun is shining on the white snow outside, inside the workshop a lot of work has been done on Tubize boiler renovation. After hard work almost all the tubes are already in their place and the smoke box ends are expanded. After all the tubes are in it is the time to call the welder on the site to weld the fire box end of the tubes.
Also the smoke box has been fitted on its place and the next phase will be drilling of 250 holes for the bolts to fix the smoke box in to the boiler. Meanwhile many smaller parts of the boiler have been cleaned and fixed. There will be still a lot of work before the boiler is completely ready. In despite this the water pressure tests of the boiler are scheduled for this summer and after that there is left the final inspection before the locomotive can be running again at the traffic at the Jokioinen Museum Railway.
