On Sunday 15/7 there is an additional train pulled by a diesel train at Jokioinen Museum Railway. The train will run Minkiö-Humppila-Minkiö-Jokioinen in addition to normal scheduled steam train.
This is the only day of the year that you are guaranteed to see one of the diesel engines of the railway pulling a passanger train. Normally diesel engines are used only to pull work trains. Now you can first take a steam train and the change trains at Minkiö station to take a ride behind a vintage diesel locomotive. The traditional train to celebrate the Midsummer's Eve's Eve will be running at Jokioinen Museum Railway again on Thursday 21.6. With the train you can get to the Midsummer party at Enttu dance pavilion. You can take the train from Jokioinen and Humppila directions. Once the train arrives at Kermala halt there is a further transportation on top of open tractor trailers to Enttu pavilion. Timetables and more information is available at the event calendar.
The tradiotiona Old Times Midsummer Part at Enttu pavillion will be celebrated a day before Midsummer's Eve on 21.6.2012 starting at 7 o'clock PM. The program includes games, dance, buffet, lottery, etc. You can get there by train from Jokioinen and Humppila on the narrow gauge Jokioinen Railway. departures from Jokioinen at 18.20, Minkiö at 18.40 and Humppila at 19.25. Return trains from Enttu starting at 22.30 and arriving at Humppila at 22.35, Minkiö at 23.20 and Jokioinen at 23.40. Trains will stop on request at all halts and railway crossings.

Traffic season 2012 of Jokioinen Museum Railway started on Saturday May 19. with first charter train. Steam locomotive number 5 Orion hauled train consisted of seven passenger carriages. At first the empty train ran from Minkiö to Jokioinen, where group of 181 persons came onboard.
After boarding the train continued to Humppila, where the group had a meal in the station. After that train returned to Jokioinen, left the group and returned back to Minkiö.
The next charter train will be on May 30. and scheduled traffic season will begin at next Sunday, June 3.

Steam locomotives of Jokioinen Museum Railway are coming back to life after winter hibernation. At Sunday May 13. former Jokioinen railway locomotive number 5 Orion was warmed up to its working pressure. Some maintenance and test runs were performed on Monday and the locomotive was found to be ready for summer traffic and the first charter train next weekend. Also steam engines HKR5 and LWR6 were prepared for official inspection of their steam boilers.
The steam locomotive boilers are pressure equipments officially supervised by authority. So steam locomotives of museum railway can be used and maintained only with officially qualified supervisors.
All five steam boilers were given new supervisors during May, when musem railway steam locomotive engineers PTJ Koskinen and Jarkko Lehtonen were officially qualified to receive the duty. Earlier spring both passed an offical engine supervisor exam required.

A group of active volunteers visited Jokioinen Museum Railway in the first weekend of May. The sixteen leaders of scout troop Tampereen Kotkat (Tampere Eagles) participated to the track maintenance and carried out their own planning sessions which were held on the railway carriage.
At Saturday the scouts installed totally 34 new sleepers in Minkiö-Humppila railway line - in the matter of only few hours. At Sunday the group installed two pieces of new wooden covers into railway crossings at Raemäki.
Museum Railway Association would like to thank the scouts for the participation!

During last weekend of April, museum railway volunteers did a lot of maintenance for steam locomotives. Former Hyvinkää-Karkkila railway locomotive number 5 was prepared for official inspection of its steam boiler. Also some cleaning and paintwork was done.
The water tanks of Jokioinen railway locomotive number 5 were cleaned up internally and some minor leaks were fixed. Also boiler water injector equipment were maintained by replacing couple of injector valves.
Training course for new steam locomotive firemen also begun during weekend. Ten participants had series of intensive lessons including steam boiler theory and safety with steam locomotive mechanics. The training will continue in June with practical lessons with live steam locomotives.

Altough the spring has been chilly, is Jokioinen Museum Railway getting ready for summer season. During Easter holidays the volunteers made firewood for locomotives, cleaned Minkiön station area up and maintained wagons for traffic.
The rustu and rotten wood carriages from Kyröskoski electrical railway were transported from Minkiö to Humppila. Also details installation of Kuusankoski-Voikkaa passenger coaches continues and freght wagon JR 67 roof was renoved.
Next major task will be spring maintenance for steam locomotives in the end of April. Training for new locomotive firemen will also take place in the same weekend.
